Les derniers travaux majeurs qui ont façonné la façade du château et adapté l’édifice à l’artillerie datent de la fin du XVe siècle. Le château offre donc un cadre historique parfait aux Lothringen Landsknecht et aux Landsknecht zu knippchen, deux compagnies de reconstitutions reconnues !

Program

Dive into the heart of a medieval castle where history comes to life beneath your eyes. Stroll through its interior rebuilt, check out its former life. Attend military training, experience outbreaks of the arquebus or... Enjoy lighter moments in letting yourself be enchanted by the music of the past. Relive the history with us !

– Explanation followed by a course of fencing participatory - shooting Competition : demonstration archery, crossbow, to the arquebus

– Presentation of the military maneuvers, equipment and roles of all men and women

– Garden of love : a reading of poems, songs, courtly love, dance and music, to games of cards and dice

– Presentation of the fashion of the time, build-up of the nobles and the common people.

– Cuisine historique sur place et buvette.

🕰 1209: Périgord under tension

As Christendom prepares to strike the Cathar heresy, the South of France enters a period of profound turmoil. Périgord, seemingly isolated, is also swept up in political, religious, and feudal rivalries.

In Salignac Castle, a major diplomatic visit is being prepared. Marguerite de Salignac returns to her birthplace alongside her husband, Maynard II de Beynac, lord of Commarque. Behind this family visit lie heavy stakes: the co-lordship of Salignac is undermined by conflicts between vassals, rival ambitions, and disputes over land and rights.

Weakened by these divisions, Aimery de Salignac calls upon the influence and neutrality of his son-in-law in an attempt to restore order. For several days, the castle becomes the stage for banquets, hunts, negotiations, and intrigues, where each knight seeks to strengthen his position, sometimes to the detriment of lordly authority.

✨ An immersion into the heart of 13th-century power games, balancing pageantry, honor, and quiet struggles for influence.

Come to discover the time where wars could last 100 years

The event would not be possible without troops extremely sharp. The Genz Weapons 1415, flowers, money and Oblitis " Milites are part of it. References in the middle, they accepted the challenge and embarked on the adventure with us, reconstructing the life of two co-seigneurs of the castle, Raymond de Salignac and Bernard de Ferrières, offices to justice through military training.
